Vintage III
2005 Pinot Noir
- 542 Cases Produced -

The 2005 growing season was a challenging year in the Russian Rivet Valley with rain and cool weather appearing at "bud break'. There was much concern among the vintners and farmers alike, but this vineyard still yielded fruit with wonderful depth and subtle complexity.

Our location in the Russian River Valley and our soil make-up and terrain, along with the hand harvesting at the peak of maturity, allowed for luscious flavors with great concentration and perfumed aromas.

The deep concentrated flavors of cherry, blackberry, cola and toast make for a rich and complex but also a delicate wine. The fruit in this vintage was harvested the last week of August 2005 at 24.8 brix, cold soaked for 5 days before fermentation and pressed to French oak (30% new) to age for 11 months. Your experience with this wine will be one of soft elegance but with the feel of depth and volume. The clonal blending has allowed for a sophisticated match yielding a wonderful wine that can be easily paired with anything from grilled salmon to a spice infused rack of lamb. From proscuitto to prawns to risotto, experience the tremendous depth and the richness of this wine as it is young but bright.

As grape growers, there Is nothing more rewarding than tending your fruit through to its final expression as wine We are not only proud to farm this incredible land, and send our grapes to the best winemakers in the county, but proud to offer our own 2005 release for you to to enjoy. Thank you for your continued support!
