Clone 4 Chardonnay

In this wonderfully crafted and classically styled Chardonnay, aromas of graventstein apples and fresh citrus abound. This elegant and delicately balanced wine unfolds gently while displaying hints of luscious stone fruits with soft notes of mineral.

Again, our Clone 4 Chardonnay is a nice representative of a Russian River Chardonnay with layers and layers of fruit, almonds, and citrus while complemented by a long lasting finish.

This vintage was 100% barrel fermented in French oak. We were conservative with the amount of new oak we incorporated into this vintage, because we wanted d a fruit focused Chardonnay and not a buttery or heavy Chardonnay. We accomplished this 'fruit first' concept by holding the new oak to 30% so the oak in the aging process would not dominate this wonderfully crisp, fresh, and well-balanced vintage.

This light and refreshing mineral based wine has been impressively crafted and is a fine accompaniment to a wide variety of moderately spice meals. We feel we have taken the fruit of the farmer and transformed it into a lovely wine that is ready to enjoy immediately.
